The Good & The Ugly: 2010

I’m not having fun anymore. For my wrestling fans, this is what Dusty Rhodes meant when he was referring to “hard times” in that promo. 2010 is very rough to cover, a year with s few classic gems but some embarrassing hits ruined the quality control of the pop charts. Before I dive into the list, here’s a small handful of honorable mentions I was able to scrounge from the list: Alicia Keys- “Unthinkable”, Kings of Leon- “Use Somebody”, Usher- “DJ Got Us Fallin In Love”, The Script- “Breakeven”, Neon Trees- “Animal”, Lil Wayne- “Right Above It”, The Black Eyed Peas- “Meet Me Halfway”, and Jay Sean- “Down”. With that out of the way, I wanted to discuss one of my biggest guilty pleasures in pop history.

Best: Mike Posner- “Cooler Than Me”: I’ve been a big proponent of shitting all over vapid pop songs because often times, there’s little charm to them. At their worst, pop can be boring and bland or aggravating and migraine-inducing. From 2008–2011, the amount of party music and club jams on the pop charts was nearly suffocating. Piling through the latest Far East Movement track or the 762nd Pitbull feature can be a little exhausting because…
