The Problem With AEW’s Women’s Division

First and foremost, for the diehards who will read this, no, I’m not a WWE ride or die by any stretch. Good wrestling is good wrestling every single time. There’s also no such thing as a completely great wrestling promotion. Whether it be struggling booking or the skeletons in every company’s closet, perfection and great morality in the culture of wrestling is impossible. The cynicism and pessimism aside, there’s a problem with pretending these companies are completely spotless and no other promotion has quite the stubborn audience like AEW.

I stay away from a ton of wrestling discourse on the internet because it’s loaded with a bunch of people who I either flat out don’t wanna talk to in general or take the product too damn serious. I can only entertain ignorance and foolishness for so long. However, it was one post I saw the other day with this headline on the Voices of Pro Wrestling site: Why AEW Has Been Smart in Booking Their Women’s Division. I have more than a few grievances with the All Elite product and I’ve avoided voicing them mostly due to the dorky discourse the diehards dish out. However, with this foolish thoughts, I’ll talk about what makes the TNT’s weekly product such a struggle for me as a viewer.

I’ll start by addressing the article that made me raise an eyebrow. Flat out, the way women have been utilized on TNT’s Wednesday nights…
